The reserve extends for about 360 hectares in the Piana del Toce.

The most characteristic environment is constituted by the reeds, one of the most extensive of Lake Maggiore: the ideal place for the breeding of many species of lake fish and perfect habitat for nesting, wintering, and stopover of many species of birds.

Inside the reserve, there is a pleasant hiking trail to be enjoyed by foot or bike.
