Route description

The starting point is the area of Lido of Cannobio, near the mouth of the River Cannobino.

long the cycle path you pass alongside the sports field and goes back in the direction of Locarno (Switzerland) on the state road. Paying attention to the traffic, you follow the road for almost 1.5 km up to the turn off for Ronco, then climb through three hairpin bends and come to the centre of the village. From here it is recommended to take the trail in the woods for Campeglio. Alternatively you can continue on the paved road.
From Campeglio continue on the road until you reach the beautiful village of Sant’Agata where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the lake.

After returning to the car park before of Sant’Agata, continue on the left for Cinzago, a picturesque stone village with narrow streets and a curious bell tower on a triangular plan. After crossing the village you continue on a fairly level mule track tor San Bartolomeo in Montibus, then pass the bridge and at a chapel turn right and a little further on take some steps on the right that lead down to Formine. On returning Cinzago by the same route you can take the fun trail that goes down to Campeglio. After the village, keeping right, you take the path for Cannobio, paying attention because of the numerous steps. The path ends on the state road just outside Cannobio and soon after you are back at the Lido.
